FAIR HAVEN, MI – After more than a year of construction, HTC Products, Inc. previously of Royal Oak, MI has moved into a new state of the art building located in Fair Haven, MI.  The new building is located approximately 30 miles northeast of the old location and is situated just off major freeways with easy access to Canada.  "With our parent company PTM Corporation, and our sister company Modified Technologies, sharing the same 70 acre campus, we can establish some common practices between the companies, that should save expense and purchasing dollars" says company spokesman Mark Cross.  "Our new building layout also eliminated the bottle necks we had in our old shipping department, and with some 50,000 square feet of space we have plenty of room to grow.  Upfront the new phone system and CRM software will keep our Customer Service team up to date with the most current technologies."  Having seen both the phone system and the CRM package I would have to agree, it's pretty cool stuff!

Upon entering the building lobby, I was surprised to see a stone fireplace with a massive oak mantle.  More western lodge feel rather than a place of business.  As it turned out it was two sided fireplace, with the same stone mantle treatment on the opposite side.  Directly across from the lobby entrance is the Trim Shop.  "This room is going to house a full woodworking shop.  It will allow us to test our products in real life situations, and it will also feed ideas for new product" Cross said.  Almost immediately across from the Trim Shop is the HTC showroom which will be used to display samples of all the items sold under the HTC and Portamate brands, as well as all of their private label brands.  Heading in the opposite direction are the administrative offices, customer service, photo studio and engineering.

All in all, I'd say HTC spared no expense when building their new facility.  The relaxed atmosphere created by the décor is evident in the smiling faces of their employees.  And that's a good thing – smiling employees mean smiling customers!
